In Greece men and women know how to enjoy themselves, go anywhere in Greece ,especially in the summertime ,and you will see many local festivals happening with everybody joining in.As a tourist, you can leave behind that dreary job, the relationship youve squeezed dry, and become someone new in a country with a beauty that few places can match, and a passionate people that truly enjoy having a good time. Being a Greek-American, I have come to know Greece both as a tourist and as a resident citizen.
Consequently, Greek men grow up to believe that a woman's place is to cook, clean and take care of the children.I have a dear friend that is married to a Greek Man.I find her opinions very interesting so I decided to put them on this blog, here is her humble opinions:"It is not easy.Greece is the land where you laze about on hot summer days and let your wild side out at night. No computer nerds herefor a Greek theres always room for fun and passion, as the story of the great Onassis so clearly demonstrates. To the tourist Greece can seem like Paradise, but when you live here, it often seems more like Purgatory.Home to the all important erotas (love, passion, romance) Greece is a land that comes alive at night, where no one whos anyone goes out before midnight, nor to bed before dawn. As a woman, I have come to the sad conclusion that there is little respect for women as people in Greece.And fourth, be sure you truly understand how your prince feels about women .
How shocked I was when a 35-year-old acquaintance whom Ill call Akis informed me that he really doesnt think women are as mentally capable as men. A conversation with a lawyer friend of mine left me even more disappointed.An educated woman is doomed in the face of a sweet ignorant one, the experienced one scores far fewer points than the innocent. If you are determined to get involved with a Greek man, there are several rules you should follow.The Greek woman, however, knows the rules, and the clever ones play the game to their own advantage. First, it is imperative that he NOT still live with his mother.However, when things do not go well in his life, everything is exaggerated and he seems to have little ability to control his mood or see things logically. One thing I love about Greece is the strong family relationships but, in my humble opinion, Greek men never leave their mothers.The high drama of a Greek tragedy is released and things get thrown around and smashed, loved ones are on the receiving end of verbal abuse and it seems all the Gods are converging over his head to bring him misery. She is always their in the background and he knows that whatever he does she will look after him.I would love to hear other people's opinions on this blog.
